Antioxidant smoothie bowl
Prep time : 15min
Serves : 1 bowl for 1 person
Ingredients :
-50g frozen acai pulp
-A handful of spinach
-1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
-1 banana
-1/3 cup fresh fruits (I chose papaya)
-1/4 cup frozen blueberries
-Topping of your choice, I like to top mine with:
->Muesli
->Grated coconut
->Fresh fruits
Directions :
-Start by preparing your toppings, to have it handy when the smoothie is ready.
-Add the fresh fruits, banana and spinach to your blender.
Blend on low until smooth.
-Add frozen berries (acai and blueberries) and blend until smooth.
At this point, you might need to add some water (1-2tbsp should be enough).
If you have a Vitamix, use the temper to push frozen ingredients down into the blade.
If you don’t have a Vitamix or any powerful blender, you can shake it while it’s blending to make sure your smoothie is thick and smooth. (Check out my Instagram story highlight #2 to see how I get this texture with a low quality blender.)
I also stop it a few times, to scrap the sides and push the mixture down towards the blade.
-When it’s well blended, add the mango and repeat with the same method until smooth.
If you need to add some more water, make sure you don’t go over 1/4 cup total of liquid in your smoothie, otherwise it will be too watery.
It might take a little longer if you want a thick smoothie, but this texture is so satisfying and worth the little effort.
-Pour the smoothie into your bowl and add your toppings.
-Make a picture, tag me and enjoy before it melts
